About
Mode Designs creates desktop peripherals and accessories designed to bring more joy to people’s spaces. The company is focused on making everyday tools feel more personal, intentional, and considered.
As Chief Design Officer and Co-Founder, I help shape the brand and product vision across direct-to-consumer launches, collaborations, and B2B partnerships. This chapter is teaching me the rigor it takes to design, manufacture, and build a physical product brand.
Mod Musings is my design studio for exploring products, brand collaborations, and stories about the process behind the work. I founded it as a solo practice and creative playground, giving myself space to experiment across different mediums, pursue projects that challenge me, and keep growing as a creative.
Building the studio has led to collaborations with brands including Grovemade, Inventery, and makers in the custom mechanical keyboard community. The first major collaboration was the Note-Taking Kit with Grovemade, a premium desk accessory maker in Portland, Oregon. These projects deepened my work in product design and helped pave the way for my role at Mode Designs.
The Futur is a creative education company founded by Chris Do, an influential voice in the creative industry and my longtime mentor since my days at ArtCenter. As Chief Content Officer, I led content strategy and creation, helping grow the company’s YouTube audience to over one million subscribers.
I created educational content and courses for creatives, and managed brand partnerships for the channel. Along the way, I saw what it takes to build something from scratch, grow an audience, and serve a community. That perspective helped shape the next chapter of my work.
Blind is a design studio known for brand, motion, and advertising work. As Creative Director, I led teams across strategy, design, and storytelling for commercials, music videos, campaigns, and identity work for clients including Xbox, Coldplay, Sony, and Meta.
This chapter taught me how to build and lead creative teams, develop production pipelines, and pitch and manage client work at a high level. The work also challenged me to experiment with emerging technology and develop new processes that led to award-winning projects.

Freelance Motion Designer
2006 — 2011
Freelancing gave me the opportunity to work across a range of leading motion design studios, including Blind, Buck, Mirada, Royale, Logan, Shilo, Laundry, and others. I contributed as an art director, designer, and animator while building a network of creatives I continued to learn from and collaborate with.
Moving between studios helped me develop a stronger sense of craft, collaboration, and what it takes to bring ambitious work through production.
Freelance Graphic Designer
2003 — 2006
My freelance practice began with editorial and print design, creating covers and layouts for Skratch Magazine, along with work for non-profits and local Los Angeles brands. These early projects gave me hands-on experience working with clients and bringing ideas into finished pieces.
At ArtCenter, I studied Graphic Design and built the foundation for much of my professional work: typography, image-making, systems thinking, and craft. It’s where I developed a process of research, concept development, and execution that could move across print, motion, brand, and emerging media. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a focus on motion design.
Early Portfolio
For a look at where my creative path started, this early portfolio shares work dating back to high school in 1998 and follows my development through ArtCenter. It captures the experiments, influences, and decisions that shaped how I first started to see and make work.
